I tried every real estate option available like Zillow, Trulia, and even realtors in Lubbock. I sold one house in Austin and had to find another house for my daughter in Lubbock to keep from paying capital gains taxes. I spoke to numerous realtors and they all said the same thing and told me about the same properties I had already located. I finally came across Velma who actually answered her phone and returns phone calls and actually had answers to my questions. I told her what I wanted and she went to work. I told her about the houses I was interested in and she did a work up on them and told me the good and the bad. I told her I was going to come up to look at some houses as I was running out of time to spend the money and get a house set up for my daughter to attend Texas Tech in the fall. We looked at several houses, none of which I liked that I had picked out. Velma told me of some houses she had in her inventory. We went to her office and looked at them on the computer and I found a few I was interested in. We went and toured a few houses and I was SOLD on one right away. There were a few things that needed fixed. Velma negotiated with the seller and they were fixed at sellers cost. I wanted to know what the utilities ran and Velma spoke to the seller and I was provided the actual invoice of the bills and not just a guess. The house came in under my budget so now my daughter had money to decorate the house as well. I found a few things I wanted to update like faucets, ceiling fans ect. I live in Austin so I called Velma and she gave me the number to a handy man right away. She is more than just a realtor, she wears lots of hats that work in your best interest. If you are from out of town there is no one better to have on your team. I would highly recommend her to anyone who does not want to play games house hunting and does not have the time to waste looking for a great house at a great price.
